Hello! I’m glad you’re here.
I’m Amanda. I’m a Charlotte Mason-inspired homeschool mom of two, and a wife to my high school sweetheart. I love to create, think deeply, and read more than 3 books at a time. The gospel is everything to me, and I strive to magnify Christ in all that I do.
Before motherhood, I received my Bachelor of Science in interior design and a minor in business. I dabbled in residential design in Northern Arizona and dreamed of starting my own firm one day. While some might say that I gave up my dreams for my children, I discovered that the Lord just had something better in store for my family and me. Even though at first I felt discouraged, and had feelings of being a failure for not having both a career and family, little did I know that God would take my passions for creating, designing, and encouraging and use them in a place we now call Our Cooper Nest.
Our Cooper Nest was born out of the desire to encourage and inspire other women to see the joy and gift that God has given us in our roles in the home, in motherhood, and in homeschooling. In a society that tells women these roles aren’t enough and are only in the way of more “important” things, it is my heart to share that we don’t have to live in that mindset. In fact, as believers, we are called to live with the very opposite mindset. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” So no matter what we are doing in our homes— all the ordinary, unseen tasks, the homeschool lessons, organizing, creating, and planning, let it all be for His glory.
