In Arizona, we hardly have a 4-season year. It seems, at times, that Spring only lasts a few weeks before the temperatures rise well above the ‘picnic-in-the-park’ weather. Before we know it, we are pulling out the bathing suits, kiddy-pools and making our way to local splash pads. However, I relish the days when we see new plant life sprouting and the local wildflowers begin to bloom on the side of the roads. It makes for quite the picturesque scenic drive and perfect backdrop to family get togethers. No matter how short our Spring season is here, there are 3 ways I welcome Spring into our home and here’s how:
———————————
1 // Pick a handful of wildflowers and place them throughout the house

It doesn’t have to be a full bouquet, just a few small flowers, greenery and a little container with fresh water will do the trick! I always love thrifting ceramic vases or containers for when my children pick flowers for me. I display them proudly as we admire the beauty of each tiny handpicked bunch.
2 // Frame artwork that pulls you into the Springtime season
I have several small frames I’ve thrifted over the years that I change out their artwork to tie into the changing seasons. I’ll display them on our bookshelves, in the bathrooms, and even in our little homeschool nook in the dining room. Whether it’s a favorite Springtime quote, or a beautiful artwork from a magazine, framing new art is a perfect way to freshen up your home decor to welcome in the new season. I usually head over to Pinterest and search for something like “Vintage Floral Art” and I get several beautiful options to choose from, some even free! I will print straight from home and pop inside my frames.
3 // Embrace your senses
I am always in awe of God’s masterful design of our 5 senses. We use our senses to experience the world in a variety of ways through sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Explore the gift of taste through new recipes using fruits and vegetables grown in-season. Go for a walk in your neighborhood or a local hike on a trail and take in the beautiful sounds of Spring. Listen for the birds, the rush of running water, the cool breeze in the trees. I love to diffuse essential oils that smell like springtime. Scents of citrus are my favorite. I personally love using this oil for Spring!
Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.
Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.
And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.
For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.
